Riley Cup 2017

The Entry deadline has passed for the 2017 Riley Cup.  There were 12 entries.  So a draw of 16 has 4 spaces.

The final is to be held at Stillington Sports & Leisure Club on January 27th 2017.

Kirkbymoorside 2 v
Stillington 3
Wiggington 3 v
Stillington 1
York RI 4 v
Kirkbymoorside 1
Selby 3&4 v
bye
David Lloyd 1&2 v
Pocklington 1
Pocklington 2 v
Stillington 2
Wiggington 6 v
bye

Top team is the home side.

The schedule is initially as follows:

Round : Period – Deadline

Last 16 : 4 weeks – November 26th
QFinal : 4 weeks – December 24th
SFinal : 4 weeks – January 20th
Final  : 1 week – January 27th

I’ve set a 4 week fixture period despite club competitions, religious occasions and the such so please be considerate when offering fixture dates.

Please note the Vets competition runs at Wiggington squash club from November 19th to 24th.

Please go with the usual fixture arrangements, home Captain offer a few date options and Away Captain select the best and away we go.  No need for food after the match.

Scoring is the usual Point a Rally to 15 and play 3 games each.
5 string teams playing in merit order, and the cumulative points of each team are combined with a positive handicap for the lesser team to give a final score and the winner goes through (a draw after the handicap is applied is classed as a win for the lesser team).  Max score is 225.

As with all deadlines, I suspect a few teams will fancy getting involved and I’ll fill up the bye slots as requests come in.

Any queries, let me know.

Stillington teams are not their 1st, 2nd and 3rd divisional teams.

Captains are Mike Williams, Nick Peel and Duncan Cook.
